For generations, small halls were the centre of public life and were places where family and friends met, ate, socialized, and discussed local affairs. To celebrate the halls that are present in almost every community throughout Ontario, the government is putting on a Small Halls Festival in early October. Our dinner restaurant is excited to be a part of the event and to cater the dinner at the Singhampton Community Centre.
Originally established as a church, this hall was sold to the trustees of the Singhampton Memorial Park in the 1970s. For decades, this hall was the hub of this area’s community and features many events where people from the surrounding area would gather. For example, every year since 1984, the annual Ramp Romp celebrates the wild leaks that appear as the snow starts to disappear.
Today, the hall continues to be a hub for the Singhampton community and is rented out for private functions. With a spacious modern kitchen, refinished floors, and large washrooms, it is one of the most functional and beautiful halls in the Georgian Bay area.
Our dinner restaurant cannot wait to cater dinner at the Singhampton Community Centre as part of this year’s Small Halls Festival. If you are planning to attend, our home-style cooking will definitely make this event one to remember!
